Terms of Service

Pocket Shift is an app that helps students find opportunities, log hours, and get career-ready, and helps organizations and schools support them. By using it, you agree to these terms. In plain terms: be honest, be respectful, follow the law, and understand that opportunities are posted by organizations — not by us — so you should confirm the details yourself.

Pocket Shift is operated by The SingularX (“we,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Pocket Shift mobile app and website (the “Service”). If you don't agree with them, please don't use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may use Pocket Shift only with the awareness and permission of a parent or guardian, and you confirm you have it. Organization and school accounts must be created by someone authorized to act for that organization or school.

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login secure. Don't share your account or impersonate someone else. You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings; doing so removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Organizations, not Pocket Shift, create and manage the opportunities you see. We don't employ students, don't guarantee any position or outcome, and don't independently verify every listing. Before applying or participating, you are responsible for confirming the details — including age requirements, pay, supervision, and applicable labor laws — directly with the organization. Any agreement or arrangement that results is between you and that organization.

When a student logs service or work hours, the organization the hours are routed to is responsible for reviewing and verifying them. Schools can view their students' verified totals. Pocket Shift records and displays this information but does not itself verify hours or guarantee they satisfy any school, scholarship, or graduation requirement — confirm those requirements with the relevant institution.

You agree not to use Pocket Shift to:

• Post or send content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable, or that exploits or endangers a minor.
• Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent who you are or your affiliation.
• Harass, bully, or abuse other users, or contact them for purposes unrelated to a legitimate opportunity.
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent opportunities or information.
• Attempt to break, overload, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You keep ownership of the content you submit (profile details, messages, applications, postings). You grant us permission to store and display it as needed to operate the Service. You're responsible for the content you share, and you shouldn't share anything you don't have the right to.

If you see content or behavior that violates these Terms, report it to daniel@thesingularx.com. We review reports and act on violations, which can include removing content and terminating accounts. You can also stop interacting with a user at any time.

Some features for organizations may be offered as paid subscriptions in the future. If and when we introduce them, pricing and billing terms will be shown before you purchase, payment will be handled through the app store, and we'll update these Terms accordingly. Today, Pocket Shift is free to use.

You may stop using Pocket Shift and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or its users.

Pocket Shift is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that opportunities will be available, accurate, or lead to any particular result, or that the Service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Any informational or educational content is general in nature and not professional advice.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, The SingularX is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including interactions or arrangements between students, organizations, and schools. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that can't be limited under applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make meaningful changes, we'll update the effective date above and note the change in the app. Continuing to use Pocket Shift after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
